The influence
socioeconomic factors on demand for DRT
The influence socioeconomic factors on demand for DRT Econometric model examined the influence of socioeconomic factors upon demand for DRT in Greater Manchester. The models found that demand was higher in areas with low population density, which are predominantly white and experience high levels of deprivation. Conversely, in areas where a high proportion of people work from home, demand is lower, which in unsurprising as working from home reduces the need to travel. See the newsletter for a full summary or the paper for a more detailed report.
DRT for DRT survey
A survey of DRT provision in Great Britain received a response from 68 public authorities and 11 community transport operators, identifying 369 current schemes across 55 organisations. The survey found that DRT was introduced in response to the withdrawal or unavailability of a service bus, the rural nature of an area, or the mobility needs of passengers. See the newsletter for a full summary or the paper for a more detailed report.
Identifying market

products for DRT as well as scope to diversify. Through
examining the micro-, meso- and macro- level environment in
which DRT operates recommendations include integration of
services through stakeholder collaboration enabled by
changes to the institutional modus operandi. See the
newsletter for a full summary a full report is currently
being reviewed for publication and a version will be
available here in due course.
